A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is a supplemental way to help you pay for out of pocket medical expenses that you are required to pay under the terms of the North Central States Carpenters’ Health Fund and the Internal Revenue Code 213(d).
Items you can reimburse through the HRA include:
- Deductibles and co-payments
- Qualified out-of-pocket medical expenses
- Prescription drugs
- COBRA and self-pay premiums.
You may also allow it to accumulate and use it for payment of your premiums for health coverage when you retire.
For a complete list of covered expenses, refer to IRS Publication 502.
